We’re pleased to announce that we have been chosen as a Tyson Foods grant recipient. This investment by Tyson allows our Woodland and Ramay students to be involved in literacy events that will encourage them to become more engaged readers.
Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation
World Language & English Language Learner Technology Development Project
Award Amount: $24,177
The World Language and English Language Learner (ELL) Technology Development Project serves 200 students in grades 11 and 12 at Fayetteville High School. The project promotes both language and cultural literacy across multiple demographics by allowing for consistent exposure to authentic material as well as supporting the technological needs for biliteracy testing resulting in a higher percentage of students achieving biliteracy status.
Bikes, Blues & BBQ
Bike Shop Class
Award Amount: $5,000
The Bike Maintenance shop class, located at ALLPS, serves all of the students, K-12, being the maintenance facility for the all the district's bikes. The students at ALLPS are provided hands-on project-based learning of the maintenance and repair of mountain and road bikes. It also provides an experience of a work environment, such as following safety policies and task procedures, as well as the application of academic knowledge in reading, math, geometry and physics.
United Way + Tyson Foods
Summer Internship - Digital Marketing
Award Amount: $3,000
Promote community awareness regarding student achievement gaps and the need for additional resources to support teacher-initiated grants that uplift our most vulnerable students.
Through support from the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation team, the intern will develop communication and marketing strategies to educate and engage Fayetteville Public School parents, alumni, and donors/patrons.
