FHS Alumni Association Announces Launch

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – This week, the Fayetteville High School Alumni Association announced its formation after building a board representing more than five decades of FHS graduates working across the state and country.

The Alumni Association is an initiative of the Fayetteville Public Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has supported excellence in Fayetteville Public Schools for more than thirty years. Established to foster community, pride, and philanthropy, the FHSAA will serve as a vibrant network for alumni to connect, celebrate, and give back.

“We could not be more excited to unite generations of Purple Dogs from classes spanning the 1960s to present day,” said Jacob Arnold, President of the FHS Alumni Advisory Board.

The FHS Alumni Association held its kickoff press conference at Fayetteville High School on June 25th, attended by Fayetteville Public Schools administrators, board members, and other alumni.

The Alumni Association elected its first Advisory Board and officers, with 2007 graduate Jacob Arnold as President. Other officers include Vice President Conrad Odom (1984) and Secretary-Treasurer Jeanie Fox (1970) and Board members Sara Eichmann (1992), Leon Jones III (2018), Sarah Jong (2018), and Bo Bittle (1997). Cambre Horne-Brooks (1985) and Alan Wilbourn will serve as ex officio Board members representing the Foundation and FPS, respectively.

The Alumni Association also announced its first Bulldog Legacy Alumni Honor, awarding Fayetteville Public Education Founder Jack Butt (Class of 1968) with a lifetime membership and FHS Alumni Member #0001.

“We have been working diligently to take input from alumni of all ages, and we’re excited to join together to celebrate this diverse and accomplished community. We are also so proud to honor the contributions of Jack Butt, who has set the course and standard for community support of our current FPS students,” said Association Vice President Conrad Odom.

Memberships to the Alumni Association begin at $5 per month and can be purchased at FHSAlumni.com. All revenue will be used to support the operations of the Foundation and Alumni Association, including eventually making Alumni Association grants and scholarships to current FHS students.

“Fayetteville is a strong community full of families who take pride in our public schools and we are beyond thrilled to offer this new opportunity to connect, network, grow professionally, and support our phenomenal students and educators in the Fayetteville Public Schools,” said Cambre Horne-Brooks, Executive Director of the Foundation.

The launch of the FHS Alumni Association was made possible by a major gift from the Becky & Bob Alexander Charitable Foundation. Bob Alexander is a 1968 graduate of Fayetteville High School.

The Alexanders are also supporting the launch of an annual Fayetteville High School Alumni Association member event, which will be held on August 2nd at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville.  Registration and more information about that event can also be found on the website.
