Are you WONDERing about our project?
Through a grant from the Foundation, all Ramay 7th grade students have been given the book “Wonder”, a wise and beautifully-told story that holds up kindness as a personal precept. This amazing project will empower all students to learn about empathy, and discover how celebrating our differences offer the opportunity to to create a positive change in our community.
Are you WONDERing how you can help?
All 7th graders will celebrate their learning and reading with a “WONDER” watch party at Razorback Cinema. Most students will see a movie in a cinema for the first time! To insure all students will have the opportunity to attend this event, we are looking to raise $2,500 by December 12, 2017 to make this WONDERful project available to all students!!
Research reveals the way to improve reading comprehension across students of all ability levels is to increase the number of minutes read daily, weekly, and monthly.
Students at-risk often have little or no access to reading materials outside of school. They live in environments not conducive to quiet reading and reflection. Research indicates that low readers and students at-risk read more often when adult mentors and peer role models demonstrate how and what to read.
A culture of literacy among the entire 7th grade faculty, staff, and students will improve motivation among students, foster a sense of community, and create better thinkers. Students will develop multi-modal literacy, a 21st-Century skill necessary for success in the classroom and workplace.

“I am reading it again. It’s my third time!”
"Awww, man! Sometimes reading is a bummer. “I wanted there to be MORE! I finished the book already.”
